High Tear Strength Fluorosilicone Rubber – Reliable Performance in Harsh Conditions
The IOTA FHTV 3200 series is a high-performance fluorosilicone rubber designed to withstand extreme operating conditions. Based on a fluorosilicone elastomer with specially selected fillers and additives, this series offers a unique balance of high tear strength, excellent oil and solvent resistance, and stable performance across a wide temperature range.
Three standard grades — FHTV 3240, 3250, and 3260 — provide Shore A hardness of 40, 50, and 60 respectively. Tensile strength reaches up to 10.3 MPa, and tear strength goes as high as 43 kN/m, making these materials ideal for demanding sealing and damping applications. Elongation at break remains high (up to 490%), allowing the material to accommodate movement and vibration without failure.
Heat aging data confirms the product's reliability. After 72 hours at 225°C, hardness increases by only 2–3 points, while tensile strength and elongation changes stay within –19% and –18% respectively. Compression set after 22 hours at 177°C is just 11–12%, ensuring long-lasting sealing force.
When exposed to Fuel C for 72 hours at 23°C, volume change is limited to 20–23%, demonstrating superior resistance to fuels and other aggressive chemicals.
For processing, 0.6–1 phr of DBPH is recommended. Curing conditions: press cure at 170°C for 15 minutes, followed by a post-cure at 200°C for 4 hours. The product is supplied in 20 kg boxes. Due to cold-flow characteristics, avoid bag damage during handling. Store in a cool, dry environment and use within one year of delivery.
IOTA FHTV 3200 series is a reliable choice for engineers seeking long-lasting, high-strength fluorosilicone rubber in critical applications.
